  2. *Most viruses are not harmful to humans. *A pathogen is a disease-causing agent. *Viruses cause disease by disrupting the body’s homeostasis. *Viruses attack and destroy certain cells in the body, causing the symptoms of the disease.

Retroviruses are viruses that contain RNA as their genetic information. *Retroviruses get their name from the fact that their genetic information is copied backward, from RNA to DNA.HIV is the most infamous retrovirus. AZT is a medication used to treat HIV by stopping an enzyme called reverse transcriptase
