  1. Confessions My Faith • Without my faith I can never please God. It is only by God’s grace through my faith that I even know Him. I can’t borrow faith from someone else, but must choose faith for myself. My faith is only in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. Jesus said that it is by faith that I am saved, I am healed, and I can move mountains. He also said that when I agree in my requests with my fellow believer, our requests to God are granted. Today I choose to walk by faith, and not just by physical sight.

  2. Confessions My Body • My body is not my own, but has been bought with a price. It is a holy place, where God the Holy Spirit has chosen to live in me and also where my soul resides. I choose to make it a place fit for His presence. I will care for it wisely. What it wears, how I feed it, and how I treat it all point to fruit of the Spirit which it displays. Its physical intimacies are reserved for my spouse. I choose today that its desires will be subject to the control of Holy Spirit in me and to make it look like the truth—that God lives in me. It will favorably point others to Christ in me.

  3. Confessions My Mind • My mind is a product of my experiences both before and after I knew Jesus. There are old habits and thought patterns that must be replaced and reprogrammed to match how He would have me think. His thoughts are different than my old thoughts. Today, I choose to recognize and reject the thoughts of the flesh and of the enemy and instead to display the fruit of the Spirit, by thinking on true things, noble things, just things, pure things, lovely things, good reports, virtuous things, and praiseworthy things.

  4. Confessions My Bible • This is my Bible: • I am what it says I am. • I have what it says I have. • I can do what it says I can do. • Today I will be taught the Word of God. • I boldly confess: • My mind is alert, • My heart is receptive. • I will never be the same. • I am about to receive the incorruptible, indestructible, everliving seed of the word of God. • I will never be the same—never, never, never. I will never be the same in Jesus’ name. (Lakewood Church Confession)

  5. Confessions My Relationships • I was created to have relationships, both with God and men. It is not good that I live in this world alone. My family, friends, and acquaintances are some of God’s gifts to me, and He desires me to be at peace with them. His calling on my life is to share His good news of salvation with them. Today, I choose to enjoy people, to listen with both physical and spiritual ears, to speak wisely, to choose only appropriate confrontations and only then to speak with a proper balance of truth and love.

  6. Confessions My Time • All of my time is a gift, and I am not guaranteed any time at all. Today has many choices, but I purpose to pursue a balance of actions that God desires both for me and from me—in relationships, in planning, in disciplines, in working, in recreation, in ministry, and in experiences.
