  2. Congratulations!!! • NHS picked 1,352 pounds of apples for Second Harvest last Wednesday! • The local food shelves are very appreciative of the fresh produce!!

  3. Attention Seniors • All summer hours are due to Mrs. Bergquist by Friday, November 6. (End of first term) • Remember, a maximum of TEN hours can be earned in the summer. • Sorry, Juniors. You’ll get this opportunity next year. 

  4. Service Hour Forms • All forms can be found online at our website (bhs.cc/nhs) or on the NHS bulletin board outside Bergquist’s room (A105). • Peer Tutoring forms will be coming soon…. • Watch for updates on approved service hours on the website.

  5. Acceptable Service Hours • No more than 10 hours in any one activity (i.e. church, nursing home, babysitting, mowing lawns, etc…) • For a complete list of pre-approved activities, please check the website. • If you have questions on whether or not an activity will be approved, please see an Executive Council member or Bergquist.

  6. Trick-or-Treating for Canned Goods (Individual Hours) • BPA and DECA run this event. • Participate for individual hours. • Actual trick-or-treating will be held Wednesday, October 28. • Informational meeting will be held Monday, October 26 during AAA in the Bison Room. • If you cannot make the meeting, ask one of the Business teachers for more information.

  7. Hanover Lions (Individual Hours) • Sunday, October 25 • Hanover City Hall • Pancake Breakfast • 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM • Need workers! • Please contact Linda Eckard for more information! 952-938-4133 or 763-498-7702

  8. Peer Tutoring • NEW requirement this year. • ALL members must complete at least TWO hours of peer tutoring at BHS. • We will try match you up (green sheets), OR you can go to Homework Help ANY TIME!! It is held in room C-115 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm Monday – Thursdays. • See Erik or Taylor with questions. • If finished with the two required hours, additional hours will count as individual hours.

  9. Technology Assistance (Individual Hours) • See Mr. Boeckers • January 2010

  10. Rake-a-thon (Group Hours) • Sign up in groups of 7. (No more please. If more, split to form two groups.) Make sure to designate a captain and have a way of communicating with all members. • Will be running Saturday, Oct 31 – Sunday, November 8. • Bring rakes and weather appropriate clothing. We can provide the garbage bags for leaves. • Your captain will be given a contact person/yard, and they will arrange a time to rake. • Rake more than one yard! We receive lots of requests! • Remember, you are representing NHS at BHS. If you don’t show up or behave inappropriately, it makes us all look bad. • See Jake and Tony with any questions.

  11. Website • bhs.cc/nhs • Will be getting a different look soon. Keep checking for updates and forms. • Make sure you know how to log on to Google docs with your school account. (user: school log in, password: bison877, then change to normal school password)
