  1. I John 1:7If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the Truth. Living Extraordinarily Walking in Fellowship with Him!

  2. Introduction: • Ephesians 3:9-10 MSG My task is to bring out in the open and make plain what God, who created all this in the first place, has been doing in secret and behind the scenes all along. Through followers of Jesus like yourselves gathered in churches, this extraordinary plan of God is becoming known and talked about even among the angels!

  3. Today Spring Cleaning!!!! • Anyone here do the Spring Cleaning ritual…??? • In these Weeks we’re talking about Extraordinary Living….

  4. Our goals: • 1. To discover how much God wants us to fully Step into Authentic Living in Christ. • 2. To realize the Freedom that Comes from True Fellowship with Christ! • 3. To become those who Boldly Declare, He Lives and because He Lives I do too in Loving. • 4. To destroy Satan’s remaining, “hanging on chains” that cripple us!

  5. Text: I John 1:5-2:2 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

  6. I John 1:8-10 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

  7. I John 2:1-2 • 2  My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

  8. One of the Stoppers in Extraordinary Living is Inauthentic Living …. Greatest motivation to live Extraordinarily is “His heart melting love” glimpsed and experienced. Will the Real Follower of Christ Please Stand Up: The Marks of Authentic Christian Faith!

  9. How do I Walk in Extraordinary Living when I know the power and pull of the “Old Man?”

  10. Two positions : Claim Christ but still seems mostly bound’ sink to. #1. Grace covers it all #2. Realizing that the fight with sin issues for the believers is tough, you have mistakenly believe “you will never be free.”

  11. A Series of “If you say” statements in I John! • If you say that you have “fellowship” with God but your life evidences darkness… • If you say that you “love God” but hate others… • If you say that “God is your God” but refuse to obey His words… • If you say that “God is your God” but you walk out the values of this world system… • If you say that “God has really set you free” but continue to walk captured…

  12. The Key to Extraordinary Living is Intact Fellowship with God! (I Jn. 1:3) 3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

  13. Misconceptions that Rob us of the Life of God!!! • Man can claim Fellowship with God and still Walk in Sin! Vs. 5 • We can Somehow Save Ourselves, through our own Effort and Power! Vv. 8-10

  14. The Four Lies that Trap Us leading to Self-Deception!!! • Lying about fellowship, 1:6–7 • Lying about my nature, saying that I have No sin. 1:8. • Lying about our deeds, saying that we have not sinned, 1:10 • Lying about our Obedience, saying that we have kept His commandments when we have not, 2:4–6.

  15. God desires to have Fellowship with us! 1. Fellowship in this context? … joint participation • God longs to have things in common with us • Jesus was sent to call us to common life together

  16. The Hope of One Walking in Light Vs. 7, 9 But if we walk in the Light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with ‘one another’ and the blood of Jesus, His Son purifies us from all sin. … 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

  18. Constant Cleansing that is available in “Fellowship with Jesus.” Vs. 7 … we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. • As we Walk, He cleanses us… • The imperfection of character, action and deed, is washed by the Father’s Light and the Son’s blood
