  1. How we analyzed this problem • We Brainstormed • We thought up ideas from something we’ve seen or heard of before • or we just made up something and fine-tuned the details to make it more realistic • We Detailed • Then we wrote down our ideas • And we thought about the details • We Voted • When we were done, we voted on the ones we were going to talk about to the doctor

  2. Some of our solutions • Anti-food Allergy Filter • Wireless Food Allergy Sensor/ Scanner

  3. Anti-food allergy filter • Filter the food (liquid and solid) and remove the allergic ingredient from the food • One type is disposable (and bio-degradable), another one is reusable. Both are foldable. • Use steel for light-weight and easy to clean • Size is small enough to put it in a lunch box or a lunch bag • Cost is around $ 100 (reusable) or $ 20 (6-pack disposable)

  4. Wireless Food allergy sensor/scanner • Can detect if the food (liquid and solid) has any allergic ingredient based on the user/owner’s medical profile • One type is non-contact (using ultrasound wave to detect/scan). Another one will be in the food to detect (more like a sensor). • Wirelessly (via wi-fi, bluetooth, etc) connected to a device/laptop/iPhone to send/receive information • Can be used together with the filter if allergic content is detected and needs to be removed from the food • Can have a special version to work with iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and install an iPhone Apps for this detection • Cost is around $ 200

  5. Trash • We focused on food allergies
