  2. Vision A Community Development Department that will integrate creative and innovative land use and zoning policies and practices that: • support efficient and quality customer service, • protect historic and natural resources and, • promote continued and balanced growth.

Objectives • Streamlined model organization that corrects service gaps and maximizes inter-departmental communication • Build an archive of all Fulton County Zoning Resolution, Comprehensive Plan, Land Use, Code, and Application Materials as a city resource • Develop transition recommendations that support uninterrupted service delivery • Prioritize policy recommendations that reflect the concerns of the community • Prepare ‘city-specific’ planning, development and zoning materials for use by the Johns Creek City Council on first day of business

  4. Current Services Operations • Code Enforcement • Zoning and Permitting Services • Building Plan and Development Review and Inspections • Geographic Information System Services Comprehensive Planning • Long Range Planning (Focus Fulton 2025) • Policy, Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations

  5. Operations • Review Transition, Organizational and Policy Recommendations with Mayor Designate and CH2MHill representatives • Recommend Interim Ordinances with direction to new city on prioritization

  6. Comprehensive Planning • Adopt the Fulton County 2025 Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) • Amend 2025 CLUP to include city specific references • Negotiate an IGA with Fulton County for continued use • Define CH2MHill role in planning process

  7. IGA Requirements • 24 months with 30 day out clause • CLUP Amendment Guidelines • 30 day notice requirement to amend CLUP • 60 day open meeting deadline • Fulton County to provide complete and certified copies in paper format and electronic data files of critical ordinances

  8. Records Request • Comprehensive Plan including all associated maps • Zoning Ordinance • Tree Protection Ordinance and Administrative Guidelines • Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan and Administrative Guidelines • Comprehensive Stormwater Management Ordinance

  9. Records Request • Stream Buffer Protection Ordinance, adopted 5/4/05 • Ordinance establishing standards for protection of wetlands within unincorporated Fulton County; providing procedures for a Land Disturbance Permit • Ordinance for establishing standards for protection of water supply watersheds within unincorporated Fulton County; providing for procedures for exemptions, enforcement and other purposes. Adopted 8/21/02
