  9. What materials do I need to purchase for this class? • A 3-ring binder/set of dividers • 1 composition notebook (research only) • 1 book cover • Blue or black ink pens • #2 pencils • Notebook paper • Colored pencils Are helpful • A box of tissues would be wonderful! MALE CARDINAL

  10. Parents & Students will have a class expectations sheet and a Safety contract to sign on the first day of school! IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO READ BOTH CAREFULLY. Please return it the next block!

  11. How can I keep up with my child’s grades? When the parent portal opens in Parent Vue please check at least once every two weeks Keep track of Interim and end of 9 weeks Dates. REDBUD TREE

  12. How can I keep up with my child’s assignments? COREOPSIS Insist that your child write all assignments in his/her agenda and check your child’s agenda regularly. Check your child’s notebook regularly. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Evans.

  14. “REMIND.COM” • Students AND Parents can sign up for their respective class using the specific code (instructions are on back of your Zero Day handout). • You can receive class messages from me via Text or Email. • I will try very hard to post upcoming tests and projects! • The student’s agenda is still the very BEST way to keep up to date with your child’s progress, because every homework should be written there.

  19. Technology Policy • Cellphones must be turned off and in student‘s backpacks unless given permission. • Earbuds and Headphones must also not be worn in the classroom. • Laptops and tablets are welcome if they are used for classroom activities.

Research Bio Info • 1st 9 weeks: We learn how to complete a background literature review and we will compile tree data and use descriptive statistics to analyze it. • 2nd 9 weeks: Students will do a short background paper on Enzymes, create a Research Plan (Materials and Procedures) and conduct a group Enzyme investigation in class and write a results and conclusions for their data. • 3rd 9 weeks-Students begin researching their own Biology related projects (individual or with carefully selected partners). They will write individual literature reviews. • 4th 9 weeks-Students will complete their projects, analyze the data, write their results and conclusions and create their Final presentations.
