The Eight Songs of my Life By Forrest Gray
Thought Process • I didn’t know what to do, but I knew I wanted to do something music related. • I was considering doing a Vivaldi-type project, and writing a song for each season. I realized that I wanted to do more then that. • I thought about writing one song for each year of my life. • I thought that it would be too ambitious, so I changed my project to eight songs instead of seventeen.
Starting My Project • My outside consultant was Bruce Wolosoff • Certain technical difficulties arose in the starting months of the school year. • I recorded each song in order, or chronologically, starting from “Birth”. • I played every instrument on the recordings.
Track list • Birth • Child • Exuberance • Music • Curiosity • Calm • Confused • Finale
Things I learned • Becoming savvy with Garage Band and music production • Planning ahead of time when it comes to recording • Notating music • Acquired skills for my future career
Challenges • Putting the tracks together through mixing and multi-tracking. • Recording with precision
Thank You • CD’s of my project will be on sale for ten dollars each, all money goes to Haiti.
