  4. 9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. Romans 12: 9-17 “Love in Action”

  5. 34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:34-40 “The Greatest Commandment”

  6. Being loved by God is the beginning of the whole Christian life. • The love of neighbor flows from us because God pours His love into our hearts. • How wonderfully simple…or is it? Simply Love!

  7. Love modeled by God:

  8. More than niceness. • Self sacrificial, willing to pay, willing to be uncomfortable. • Stands with and for the oppressed, desiring justice. • Breaks down walls, doesn’t build up protective barriers. The Agape Love of God:

  9. A Broken World.

  10. God’s love is still the answer. • It is more powerful than all of the evil in the world. • And that love is for you and me and all people! • Being transformed and humbled by God’s grace is the beginning of Sincere love and of conquering evil. Love in Action
