  3. Summer time is prime time for pools, but it’s also the high season for drowning

  4. Swimming Pool Accidents Drowning is the second leading cause of death for children

  5. Non-fatal drowning injuries can cause serious brain problems and long-term disabilities

  6. It's important to take appropriate precautions to prevent accidents and injuries Just a few simple actions can prevent accidents and even save lives

  7. 1. Allow your child to learn how to swim by enrolling them in swim lessons

  8. 2. Teach your child not to swim near pool drains or suction outlets

  9. 3. Avoid distractions when your child is in or around water 4. If your child is a new swimmer, it is prudent to wear a life jacket in the pool every time

  10. 5. Set a time limit for swimming and get out of the pool before getting tired

  11. 6. Teach your children to look for the designated markings

  12. 7. Never let children dive into a shallow end of a pool or a body of water with an unknown depth

  13. 8. Don't leave toys in the pool area or use chemical dispensers that look like toys
