Progress on PLACET and ABCI Code Implementations in Electromagnetic Simulations

This report outlines my progress in utilizing PLACET and ABCI codes for electromagnetic simulations on various machine setups. I've successfully installed the PLACET code on a Manchester AFS machine and tested it with an example file. Additionally, I've worked on the ABCI code on my laptop and Ieyasu PC, creating input files and simulating TESLA's cell structure. Despite some challenges in defining coupler materials, I've conducted various simulations, comparing identical and non-identical cell structures. I'll continue learning with SAGE math code and resolving download issues.

  2. Overall • I have installed PLACET code in Manchester afs machine. It worked properly and I have run example file of ilc. Further learning will carry on. • I have got ABCI code worked on my laptop and Ieyasu pc.I learned to create input file and done with TESLA identical cell structure. • I drew TTF-style power coupler in MWS and simulated with 9 cells and 4.5 cells. These simulations were done with varying mesh size. • I have run 9 identical cells and 9 cells structure with ERLP-style coupler again. I found that my simulation was wrong in geometry creation. I have defined coupler materials as vacuum and united with the cavity, but in reality and in Dr. G. Burt simulation the coupler materials was defined as PEC and didn’t unite with the cavity. • I have installed VM Player for SAGE math code on my laptop, but I have problem downloading SAGE code file. The file size is too big.

  8. Validate Dr. G. Burt simulation • 9 identical cells cavity with ERLP type coupler is simulated with 45 lines/wave length meshing. My simulation Dr. G. Burt simulation

  9. NEXT • Get results from ABCI code. • Learning PLACET code. • 4.5 cells simulation of ERLP coupler and compare with 9 cells results. • Get SAGE math code work.
