  1. Work In Progress WIP Presented by Kimberly Savageau Clay County Deputy Recorder

  2. Choosing Work In Progress • Choose Work In Progress instead of Recording for docs that are routed through the Aud/Treas.

  3. Enter “Deliver to:” when receipting • The presenter information is captured up front. • Once captured you can print a mailing label if needed if you have a DYMO label printer.

  4. Instead of tendering the transaction, you would choose “shelf tender” to keep the document as work in progress. Choosing to “shelf” the transaction

  5. Documents are “Wipped” • Your document information is displayed on the shelf ticket when printed.

  6. Retrieving & Tendering docs • Do a transaction search and select the retender button.

  7. Recording • Doc stamp all documents. • Tender as usual.

  8. Rejecting Documents • Instead of retendering you would go to edit and add the reject information in the notes field.

  9. My favorite things about WIP • Data entry decisions made up front. Non real estate staff can help record documents in a time crunch. • No manual logs to track documents. • No duplication of information. • Able to answer customers on the phone much faster about documents that are in progress or that were rejected.

  10. Searching by WIP Number • The WIP # is entered in the document number field. • Select “edit” to access the notes field.

  11. Tracking Rejects • The notes field is used to track the reject and resubmit information.

  12. Viewing reject notes • Once the reject notes are entered, they appear when the document is searched for and the results are expanded.

  13. Tracking Information • Our county uses a questionnaire to capture information that would have been manually entered on our log such as check info, CRV’s and surveys. • If we question what items were presented with the docs we can view a report.
