Possible topics for argument from “The Power of Magical Thinking” • People should(n’t) tell their kids that Santa Claus exists. • People should(n’t) allow children to have imaginary friends. • Kids become don’t just get more gullible as they get older. (I’d be interested to see your opinion about why this happens added to your argument.) • Imagination helps us to understand reality. • The Candy Witch exists. (although you’d have to take it out of context to get evidence, so technically I probably shouldn’t teach you to do this).
