Un Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) The lead platform for wide-ranging international efforts Five priorities • stop the outbreak • provide treatment • provide essential services • preserve stability • prevent outbreaks in non-affected countries. The mission is expected to also emphasize community outreach, training and education especially among local leaders, including traditional and religious leaders.

Liberia • Food Security cluster established co-led FAO/WFP • Government has establish a central command centre for all cluster to be housed • Guinea and Sierra Leone • No formal clusters establish to date. However, food security sector coordination on-going co-led by FAO/WFP
Cluster approach • strengthen system-wide preparedness and technical capacity to respond to humanitarian emergencies • provide clear leadership and accountability in the main areas of humanitarian response. Specifically at country level to: • strengthen partnerships, and the predictability and accountability of international humanitarian action, by improving prioritization and clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of humanitarian organizations.
