  10. Regions and Sectors of JI Projects in Ukraine • Sectors: energy, industry, forestry. Potential resource for government and private enterprises in solving of interrelated financial, economic, environmental & social problems. • Geography of JI Projects in Ukraine: industrially developed Eastern regions, central and southern regions.

  11. UKRAINE: • Is intended to use its reserve of national quota of GHG emissions to attract foreign investments • Supports the idea of prolonging use of the Kyoto protocol mechanisms • Supports the idea of longer commitment period (up to 10 years) as some projects’ cycles are longer then 5 years • Considers the technology transfer mechanism to be a very effective tool and is ready to support development of the free technology transfer mechanism • Is interested in implementing projects in the forestry sector
