IBO request for results form • For UK unis – just write ‘UCAS’ unless you have applied to unis and colleges directly • For the University of California – please specify which ‘UC’ college • External Deadlines: 4 April (all destinations except Australia and N. America); 15 June (N. America) 3 October (Australia and New Zealand) (If you miss these deadlines, (a) your uni offer/place could be at risk; (b) you make your own arrangements with IBO to send the transcripts – incur costs and delay) • No more than SIX institutions can be selected: NOTE: - ONE for the USA (only ONE UC college) - ONE for Canada - UCAS counts as ONE – just write “UCAS” - If you want to go to a university but are waiting to hear the decision, still go ahead with selecting that university.

  3. 3. Year 13 Leaver’s Pack Everything to do with university offers and higher education guidance/services after the publication of IB and BTEC final results is in the Higher Education Guidance Handbook (publication of examination results – 2014). Make sure YOU and YOUR parents read it.

HE services after IB and BTEC results are published • Ms Tang (6-11 and 14-17 July) • Ms Lui (6-11 and 14-18, 21-25 July, 12-15 August*) • There will be no Careers service from 28 July to 11 August. (Any requests made during this period will be followed up from 12 August onwards.) • Final school transcript can be picked up by appointment. Email Ms Lui: awing.lui@wis.edu.hk * = limited service

British Council Education Exhibition (aka the UCAS Clearing Fair – August 2014) • Before the August Fair, make sure you are actively calling and emailing unis if you do not have a place from the time you get your results. • British Council Education Exhibition – 15 and 16 August, 1-7pm – Rotunda 3, Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Centre • Check British Council Hong Kong website “Events” for update: http://www.britishcouncil.org/hongkong-events-whats-on.htm

Gap Year students THREE WEEKS’ NOTICE - ALL requests related to university application to be made through WIS CAREERS Department (do not approach your ex teachers individually for references) - Contact WIS Careers Department at least three weeks ahead of the application deadline to get the school documents completed (careers@wis.edu.hk) UK-bound Contact the Careers Department (careers@wis.edu.hk) in mid-August to get the UCAS Buzzword. You should also inform the school of the universities you are planning to apply to and your chosen subject by the end of September. North America and Hong Kong You must let the Careers Department (careers@wis.edu.hk) know which universities you are applying to, your choice of subject and for the USA (who you want to be your subject referee*) by the end of September. Australia and New Zealand You must let the Careers Department (careers@wis.edu.hk) know which universities you are applying to and your choice of subject by the end of September. Please note the school is unable to officially verify your public examination certificates and documents, you will need to contact the Australian Consulate or AEC or IDP Education Pty in Wanchai for assistance. *Note that some teachers might no longer be teaching at WIS.

  7. 7. Transfer students WIS is not able to write and submit references and evaluations for students who wish to transfer from one university to another once you have started your course.

  8. 8. Australian medical schools and UMAT testing (entry 2015) • Australian and New Zealand citizens ONLY • UMAT registration opens NOW • Registration closes on 6 June 2014 (AEST 5pm) • UMAT test day is 30 July 2014 • Publication of results – late September

  9. 9. Australian medical schools and ISAT testing (entry 2015) • International Students ONLY • ISAT registration opens NOW • Testing between 11 March 2014 – mid Feb 2015 • Register and choose your test date and venue • ISAT office will email you when the results are available

  10. 10. GATEWAY Every student MUST complete the HE module Provide information on ALL your: - Applications - Offers - Rejections - Scholarships

Locking of IB accounts • All university applications and details must be entered onto GATEWAY before you go on exam leave – 11 April. • Careers staff will be checking GATEWAY to see who has/hasn’t filled in their information. FAILURE TO COMPLETE UNIVERSITY APPLICATION INFORMATION ON GATEWAY WILL RESULT IN YOUR IB ACCOUNT BEING LOCKED (E.G., YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO ACCESS YOUR EXAM RESULTS ONLINE ON 6 JULY).
