PMO duty • Supervision of matters pertaining to the work of gathering ship’s reports. • Checking of meteorological instruments and calibration of aneroid barometer. • Provides advice, and instructions to the observer. • Recruiting & supply of stationery to VOS fleet. • We also help other countries in recruiting & supplying of stationery to their VOF.

Director-General highlighted the importance of VOS programme and Singapore’s contribution. • PMO & business section will work together to promote the VOS programme. • Looking towards publishing a Marine Climate summary. • As world economy improves, we see more shipping activities in our ports. • Good time to strengthen and increase our VOS fleet.
