European Network of Excellence on High Performance and Embedded Architecture and Compilation
Join us for an engaging workshop focusing on High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Embedded Architecture in Slovenia. The event kicks off with an overview of the HiPEAC Network and TETRACOM technology transfer, followed by insights into HPC applications in sectors like numerical weather forecasting and industrial computing. Esteemed speakers from various institutions will discuss ongoing research and innovative projects, fostering discussions among industry leaders, researchers, and developers. This collaborative effort aims to advance the HPC landscape in Slovenia and strengthen partnerships across sectors.

Support and cohesion (administrators + supporters): Slovenian National Computing Infrastructure –SLING (speaker) R&D Institutions (researchers + developers + users) : All Universities: Primorska, Ljubljana, Maribor, Nova Gorica, … Institut “Jožef Stefan”, National Institute of Chemistry, … … Industry (users + developers): Kolektor (Turboinštitut) - CFD for design of hydraulic machines on a dedicated computing cluster with ≈2K Cores, Arctur - Scientific computing and virtualization. We have a speaker from Arctur so he could say more about industrial perspectives of HPC. Infotehna, Xlab,… + many SMEs – developers of customized software, including HPC, Strong IT departments in other companies, e.g. IskraTel (communication), Marand (eHealth), Telecom, Banks, Governmental services (SAE - speaker). Lek-Sandoz and Krka – usage of HPC in the processes of drug production (motivation is in less actual experimental work and reduced price).
