  2. Structuring the Opening (mp3.11) Listen to mp3.11 on pp. 108-109 Don’t read/look at the book in the beginning. Try to shadow the audio clip as much as you can.

  3. Structuring the Opening 1. I am going to begin by Ving. 2. …, beginning with n.p. • Note: The differences between here and Part II Structuring the Presentation: • Here is to tell the audience something now. • Part II is to tell what will be told in the future (later).

  4. Practice I • Choose your “opening” sentence. • Practice with a partner.

  5. 2. Enumeration(mp3.12) Listen to mp3.12 on pp. 110-116 Don’t read/look at the book in the beginning. Try to shadow the audio clip as much as you can.

  7. Enumeration – consistency • We need to address two critical issues: first,n.p.; and secondn.p. • There are three main points to here: first, +clause;second, + clause; and third, + clause. • The first/second point is that +clause. • The first/secondn.p. is n.p.
