  3. Course Changes • Beginning this fall, CIED 0003 Developmental Reading will be called: ARSC 0013 Reading Strategies for College Students Students who score 19 or below on the  reading portion of the ACT must take this class (see page 27 of the catalog).

  6. Changes • The Withdrawal Policy • Students can now withdraw online without contacting the Dean’s Office.

  7. 8 Semester Degree Completion Plan update • Fall 2006 - 38 participants • 23 left the program at end of semester due to W’s, F’s, opted out, or did not enroll spring 2007 • Only 1/15 students is in compliance with policy

Orientation Changes • All sessions are now in June and August • Summer Orientation Day One • College meeting begins at 2:45 pm • CSI in HOEC 217 at 3:45 pm • Advisors meet with students in HOEC/AGRI • Please arrive at 3:50 pm at session 1 • Email Alain aed001@uark.edu for paired classes • Students must report back to Union no later than 5:00 pm • Day Two - Students arrive at 8:30 am

Orientation Changes • Day One discussion topics • Review 8 Semester Degree Completion Program (sign contract on day 2 before registering) • Paired classes • (15 seats are now available in each section) - Department clubs and organizations • Introduce the check sheet – Bachelor of Science Gen Ed Core, Dept Core, Concentration, Pre-req & Co-req • Discuss college requirements • Who do they contact in the department when they have questions? • If time, discuss Internship opportunities

  12. Degree Plans/Check Sheets • If the plan you are using does not have a 2007-2008 watermark behind it, then it hasn’t been approved by the Dean’s Office. • Please use care when handing out check sheets.
