  3. Background • Today we will work on developing your new site at umasd.schoolwires.com • www.umasd.org will still display all of the information on your old site until 9/5/2006 • On that day, www.umasd.org will begin hosting the new pages we are developing today.

  5. What is a WebSite? • It can be a Bulletin Board. • It can be a Newsletter. • It can be a Chalkboard. • It can be an Assignment Book. • It can be a Library. • It can be a Digital Tool. • What can it replace/supplement?

  17. Common Problems • You make a page but forget to save it. Solution: Save it! • You make a page and think you saved it, but it doesn’t save. Solution: Disable your pop-up blocker! • You make a page and save it, but it doesn’t appear on your site. Solution: Mark it active!

  19. Other Important Reminders • You bear sole responsibility for your site content. Check your links, check your spelling, keep it updated, etc. • There are three “paste” commands. Some carry-over bothersome formatting from your other application. Try all three! • Upload your files, pictures into folders. This keeps your work speedier and easier to find.
