  1. Producing a successful Graphic Analysis Plan your page in rough What type of Graphics is it that you are looking at? I.e. Advertising, Animation, Typography, Concept Art, Product Design, Illustration, Interactive Media, Packaging or a combination of more than one. Who designed it? Why have they designed it, do you think? What colours have been used? Why? What do they communicate? How has tone been used or not? What feeling does this give the Graphic work? What images have been used or not in the Graphic work? Why? What do they or does this communicate? What font, writing or Typography has been used? Why has it been included. What style does it represent? What message is it trying to deliver? Tell me about the composition. Why have things been arranged in the way that they have. Is the Graphic work busy and full or spaced out or quite empty/minimalistic? What media has been used for the Graphic work? Tell me about the target market. Who is the Graphic work aimed for? How do we know this. Try to use information about, COLOUR, TONE, IMAGES TYPOGRAPHY, LINE, STYLE, TEXTURE, DETAIL, MEDIA, ADVERTISING and COMPOSITION to explain your answer. Does it target a specific AGE, SEX, BELIEF, CULTURE, EARNING BRACKET(cost) or NICHE? Why do you think this?

  2. Fantastic Four 1Value: $279,000 about £175,400 What’s it about? Created in response to DC’s success with the Justice League Of America, Marvel’s own superhero team introduced a new Human Torch, Mr Fantastic, the Invisible Woman and the monstrous Thing. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were the creators, although who did what remains the subject of some controversy. The story sees the FF coming to grips with their powers, and putting them into action against subterranean eccentric The Mole Man. Why so valuable? The Richards clan and Ben Grimm take their first bow. Complete your Graphic Analysis

  3. Batman Family v1 #17, 1978 -  Jim Starlin opens this issues with an intriguing splash page. The Batman poses almost frighteningly in movie-monster fashion (see interior page above). Deceptively simple in layout, Starlin uses a diminishing sequence of bats to increase depth. The scene is darker in tone than the rest of the book, which features Man-Bat, the Demon, Huntress, Batgirl and Batwoman. Other artists in this issue include Don Heck, Bob Wiacek, Vince Colletta, Carl Potts, Frank McLaughlin, Michael Golden, Jim Aparo and Mike Kaluta (cover). This is number 1 of 3 Batman Family issues with Starlin art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Starlin or Batman Family issues.See also this blog's Starlin checklist or Top 10 Starlin comics.

  4. The Silver Swan's motives come to light, as she and Wonder Woman battle over the sea in "Bird Of Paradise/Bird Of Prey!" Part 2 of 2, continued from the previous issue. Some story elements continue into Superman #17, Adventures Of Superman #440 and Action Comics #600. Script by Len Wein, plot and layouts by George Perez, finishes by Bob Smith. Perez cover
