  2. Surrealism means “beyond reality" Surrealistic methods include: • Levitation • Double images / repetition of objects • Dislocation • Metamorphosis • Transformations • Reverse laws of nature • Scale change • Juxtaposition of incongruous objects • Symbolism

Altered Pencil & Manikin Project Project criteria: • Use a pencil and manikin in some combination…one is the focal point • Total of 4-5 overlapping objects in the final composition • 2 Surrealistic techniques (see list) • Plan your negative spaces…overlap and have variety in sizes, shapes, colors, value contrast • Have a specific color scheme (complementary, analogous, primary, cool, warm or monochromatic)
