  3. The Boys Tennis Team defeated Holy Redeemer 3-2 through wins from #3 Singles: Nick Perry 6-0 6-3 #1 Doubles: Jake Butwin and Michael Abromovage 6-3 6-2 #2 Doubles: Pat Musinski and Adam Wisnewski 6-0 6-2

  4. Celebrate Library Month! Next week (April 7-13) is Library Week. Any overdue books returned to the Wyoming Area Secondary Center Library will not be assessed fines. Take advantage of this “Amnesty Week” to return ANY overdue books. And: READ A BOOK!!

  5. The Boys Tennis Team defeated Wyoming Valley West 3-2 from wins at #1 #2 and #1 Doubles. Mike Remley 6-2 6-3; Nick Perry 6-2 6-1; Jacob Butwin and Michael Abromovage 7-5 (7-2) (6-3)

  6. SAT's will be given here on 5/4. The deadline for registering is 4/5.You may register on-line by going to "collegeboard.org". If you are a junior planning on attending college and have not taken the SAT's yet, you should do so. You also need a PHOTO ID, you will not be permitted to take the SAT;s, if you do not have a PHOTO ID, please see Mrs. Rabel.

  7. Scranton High School will be holding a Regional College Fair on Thursday, April 11th, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. The fair will be held at Scranton High School, 63 Mike Munchak Way, Scranton. All are welcome.

  8. Anyone who wants to sign up for American Legion Baseball Prep., Junior or Senior please see Mr. Falzone in his office next to the Link to Learn Lab

  9. The forms for yearbook ads are now available outside Mrs. Lynch's room 201. All ads are due by April 30, 2019! Remember the last day to buy your yearbook is this week at jostensyearbooks.com or through Mrs. Lynch in room 201!!

  10. Any student interested in submitting artwork for exhibition in the Fine Arts Fiesta or The Congressional Art Competition please see Mrs. Jarden for more information.

  11. Any student in grades 9-12 interested in joining the Art Club should sign up with Mrs. Jarden in the Art Room.

  12. Applications are available in the Guidance Office with Mrs. Rabel for the Wilkes-Barre Chapter of UNICO. Criteria: Italian Origin (candidate shall be Italian descent, one parent or grandparent),Financial Need.

  13. Geisinger Wyoming Valley and Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Junior Volunteers has a 2019 Summer Program. Must be 14-18. Application are now available online at www.geisinger.org/volunteers. See Mrs. Rabel for more information.

  14. Reminder: students cannot sell candy bars in classrooms, especially candy bars with almonds, peanut butter, and/or other types of tree nuts. We have students who have allergies to these ingredients and reactions for these students can be very dangerous.

  15. Order your 2019 Warrior Yearbook today at jostensyearbooks.com or see Mrs Lynch in room 201. Cost is $125. Checks payable to WA Yearbook.

  16. Any senior requiring a mid-year report to be submitted to their college must request the transcript be sent thru the Parchment system. The Common Application have automatically been uploaded. Questions? Contact your counselor or the guidance secretary.

  17. West Side CTC Applications are available in Mr. Yatsko's office.

  18. The Greg Legg NEPA Diamond Scholarship is available in the Guidance Office, see Mrs. Rabel. Criteria: must be playing baseball in high school, present member of the All-Star team for Lackawanna League or the Wyoming Valley Conference, essay, community service.

  19. Seniors who didn’t send in their pictures for the yearbook to Mrs. Lynch please do so ASAP

  20. The 1st Lt. Jeffrey F. DePrimo Memorial Scholarship, preferably, but not limited to, student who loves music and actively involved in any type of organized musical program. actively involved in your community, at least one relative must be currently serving in the military or a veteran, financial need, enrolled in an two or four-year college/university program. See Mrs. Rabel with questions.

  21. The George B. & Bertha J. Knecht Memorial Scholarship, a resident of West Pittston, proven record and commitment of helping others with your community, average of 2.5, financial need.

  22. Cinderalla's Closet, 50 or more documented volunteer hours and 25 or more of those hours must be recorded at a single Northeast Pennsylvania non-profit organization, grade point average of 3.0, pursue a post-secondary school education. See MrsRabel if interested.

  23. #GaryInspiredMe Scholarship, academic excellence, good citizenship, participation in an athletic group, active member of a faith based or religious organization, essay on how they are an inspirational person learning how to overcome a challenge, conquering adversity and never giving up.

  24. HermineSolt Student Scholarship is available in the Guidance Office with Mrs. Rabel. The criteria is: financial need, must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, school, work, volunteer activities. MUST BE PURSUING A BUSINESS-RELATED FIELD. See Mrs. Rabel for an application.

  25. Applications are available in Mrs. Rabel's office for the Valley Lodge No. 499 Masons Scholarship. Criteria: Have a relative who is a mason or a child of a lodge member, and will be furthering their education.

  26. Luzerne County Head Start Scholarship is available online at www.lchs.hsweb.org, or in the Guidance Office with Mrs. Rabel. Criteria: Previous participation in a Head Start Program, academic performance, community involvement, acceptance in an institution of higher education.
