  2. Characteristics of Tropical Rain forest • In an average year in a tropical rain forest, the climate is very humid because of all the rainfall, which amounts to about 250 cm per year. The rain forest has lots of rain because it is very hot and wet. This climate is found near the equator. Plants that thrive here must find a way to get sunlight because most of the sun’s energy is absorbed by the canopy. Tropical rainforests are home to more animals and plants then any biome on the planet. Most of the animals it is home to have not been discovered yet.

  19. Adaptations in the Rain Forest • One adaption that is unique to the rainforest is that the pitcher plant can hold water to trap insects in when they go into the plants pitcher to drink. The insects can’t get back out once they fall in.
