REGISTER FOR THE SAT/ACT SAT Fee: $50.00 Writing = Multiple-choice/essay Critical Reading = Sentence Completion and Reading Math = Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and Probability ACT Fee: $35.00 (Optional writing $50.50 ) Writing is required by most Colleges and Universities English Math Reading Science NCAA #9999 101528 High School Code

  5. FEE WAIVERS • Students eligible for free or reduce lunch are eligible to apply for fee waivers • 2 SAT fee waivers • 2 SAT/ Subject fee waivers (6 Subjects) • 2 ACT fee waivers • 4 College Application fee waivers Students can apply for waivers through the College and Career Corner on Edline.

  6. CALCULATE ACADEMIC GPA • College GPA based on 19 academic credits • Bright Futures Program based on 16 academic credits • Each group applies their own weighting system for Honors, AP and Dual Enrollment

Academic GPA’s • High School unweighted GPA- all classes on a 4.0 scale • High School weighted GPA- all classes, add .04 for honors/.08 for AP/Dual Enrollment • Bright Futures GPA-recalculated based on English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language (16 credits plus 2 academic electives) .50 added for honors/AP/Dual Enrollment see www.FLVC.org for current GPA • College and Universities-recalculated based on English, Math Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language. Check websites for their calculation. Some add points for academic indicators, others do not.

  14. Types of Admission Decisions /When You Should Apply • Early Decision • Usually means “Binding”. Meaning you are committed to that college if they accept you. • Early Action • Usually mean “Non Binding” • Regular Admissions • Summer Admissions • Get a head start on your classes and other students

  15. Summer Admissions • Bright futures does not pay for summer. • If you apply for summer and get accepted your are required to go • Apply for the semester you want to attend

  17. TRANSCRIPTS • Fill Out Transcript Request Form In Guidance submit to registra • Address required for private or out of state application • State Schools Sent Electronically (FREE) • Fee $2.00 Per Transcript for private or out of state applications • Allow 3 days for processing
