  4. Regulation of Energy Metabolism • Compounds that either inhibit or activate enzymes at key control points in the oxidative pathways modulate regulatory control of glycolysis and the citric acid cycle • Greatest effect exerted by ADP levels • Regulators are redundant

  5. Regulation of Fat/CHO Use • Fat use is related to FFA concentration in plasma • Regulators that increase lipase activity increase fat use • Epinephrine, norepinephrine, & glucagon increase fat mobilization • Lactic Acid & Insulin decrease fat mobilization
