  3. The United Nations Association – Toronto Branch Students would be taken to the Peace and Sustainability Education Initiative and the Movement for Ontario Peace Day at the Legislative Assembly of Ontarioat Queen’s Park, Toronto.

  4. Curriculum Expectation met by Field Trip- analyze, from a Canadian perspective, the social structures that support, and those that weaken, global inequalities.

  5. What is that….? “UNACTO is presenting Julia Morton-Marr, Founding President of the International Holistic Tourism Education Centre (IHTEC) founder of the International School Peace Gardens, Nobel Peace Prize nominee, at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. UNACTO is promoting “Ontario Peace Day” along various displays of peace and sustainability education achieved by various local NGO’s, communities, schools, experts and educators.

The showcase will also include Science for Peace, Canadian Pugwash, Global Issues Project; Canadian Voice of Women for Peace, and the Education Alliance for a Sustainable Ontario (EASO). Members of Provincial Parliament will be in attendance, along with representatives from government and other organizations.”

  7. Students will have a wonderful opportunities to investigate a variety of global education issues with experts in their field

  8. Their Task Students will work in teams of 3, and will be challenged with the task of choosing one global issue from the conference and developing a presentation for the classroom. They will be “teaching” their chosen topic to the rest of the class.

  9. They will be expected to hold a discussion session following their presentation, and should have some type of agenda of their information for the class to follow.
