IEEE UCSD Projects • What? • IEEE UCSD Projects is the robotic competition division • Benefits? • Gain valuable hands on experience • Build an attractive resume • Travel to the competitions • Get to work with fellow IEEE members • No prior experience required !
Micromousethe maze race of the micromice • Design and build a robotic “mouse” to reach the center of a maze as fast as it can • Learn to work with microcontrollers, C programming, circuit design, sensors and more • Status Update
Natcar • Design and build an autonomous car that can navigate by itself around any given track. • Natcar looks at simple sensors to provide directional feedback to the car and implements predictive acceleration and deceleration to complete the track in as short a time as possible. Circuit design, control theory, microcontroller programming • Status Update
Robomagellan • Build and design an autonomous robot to conquer great outdoors! • Robomagellan uses a combination of its sensory capabilities including GPS, machine vision, optical sensors, and ultrasound sensors to navigate around the obstacles • Status Update
We want YOU involved in projects! All years • Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors All majors • EE, CS, CE, ME, cog sci Real learning happens outside the classroom. To join, talk to project leaders after presentation.
Outreach • Inspire the next generation of engineers to keep innovation alive! • Volunteer at local schools and community events • Events • Sally Ride Festival • Science Discovery Day • Computers to SD Kids • San Diego Science Festival
