Each period has a name: ones, thousands, millions, millions, trillions, etc.

  5. New Terminology Whole Numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, … Natural Numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,… Standard Notation: 34,123 Expanded Notation: 34,123 = 3 ten thousands + 4 thousands + 1 hundred + 2 tens + 3 ones
