  8. Grammar Notes • 都 dōu is an adverb meaning “both or all”. • …都不… • …不都… • Example: Wǒmendōubúshìzhōngguórén. • Wǒmenbùdōushìzhōngguórén. • 跟 gēn is a preposition meaning “with”. • Example: • Please come with me. none of /all are not not all Qǐnggēnwǒlái.

  9. Grammar Notes • 常 cháng is an adverb meaning “often”. • If 也, 都, 常 occur together in a sentence, • their order should be: …也都常… • Example: We all also often speak German. WǒmenyědōuchángshuōDéwén.
