Sunnyside Internet for Families Program Goals • Provide as many students and families as possible with Internet access at home. • Provide an exceptional customer service experience for families. • Develop a business model for District customer relationship management (billing of services and customer experience). • Create marketing strategies to enhance visibility in the community • Help families learn the value of having Internet access in their home • Keep account transactions to a minimum for families.

  4. COST BREAKDOWN REVENUE • Tohono O’odham Funds $75,000 • Family Subscription Fee $30,000 • Subtotal $105,000 EXPENSES • Modem $21.47 • Monthly Service Fee $14.07 • Subtotal $107,835 • With taxes $121,853 • Delta ($16,853)

  5. Sunnyside Internet for Families $100 Family Subscription Fee • Payment in full at beginning of enrollment plan. • Split Payment Option of $50 upon enrollment and $50 the following month. • Tax Credit Option (TBA)

Sunnyside Internet for Families Tax Credit Eligibility Plan • All families enrolling in the Internet for Families program will have the option of requesting their $100 subscription fee be designated for AZ Tax Credit. • Each school will create an extra-curricular club for student learning and support of their home Internet use. • Supervision and content for the Internet Homework Club will be provided by school technology facilitator or coach. • Any family wishing to qualify their $100 subscription fee for Arizona Tax Credit will need to enroll their student in the Internet Homework club. • The school will be responsible for maintaining proper accounting of funds submitted for AZ Tax Credit in accordance with SUSD Business Office protocol.

Digital Innovators One-to-One $25 Participation Fee Plan All sixth grade students will be assessed a $25 participation fee to offset the costs of hardware maintenance, individual cases for each laptop, and other costs related to the one-to-one program. The sixth grade participation fee is due at the beginning of the school year with the following payment options: • Payment in full at beginning of enrollment plan. • Split Payment Option of $10 due September 1 and the remainder due October 1. • Tax Credit Option (TBA)

Digital Innovators One-to-One $25 Participation Fee Plan Rationale: • Encourage student responsibility and stewardship of the assigned laptop which will remain with student for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. • Encourage parental involvement in the stewardship of the laptop • Offset District Costs toward laptop case which will further protect the equipment

Digital Innovators One-to-One 6th Grade Fee Next Step • The Governing Board review the proposed 6th Grade $25 One-to-One computing participation fee • Should the Board wish the Administration to follow-through with this proposal, Administration will prepare an action item at a future meeting of the Governing Board

  10. Sunnyside Internet for Families Recommendation • The Governing Board approve the establishment of Tax Credit Eligible extra-curricular “Internet Homework Club” which complies with AZ state Tax-Credit eligibility requirements for at all One-to-One implementation sites
