The Department of Education, under the guidance of Jim Mackey, is spearheading initiatives to improve the U.S. manufacturing workforce. With a focus on competency-based education, the $250,000/year NAM-Endorsed Manufacturing Skills Certification System aims to create an Advanced Manufacturing Program of Study (AM-POS). This program incorporates ten essential framework components and collaborates with Northcentral Technical College and four local secondary schools: Spencer, DC Everest, East Wausau, and West Wausau. The goal is to provide tailored education and training for today's and tomorrow's manufacturing needs.
