DIANE ARBUS :D • Born March 14, 1923 • Original name is Diane Nemerow • A photographer who was known for black and white square photographs of “deviant and marginal people (dwarfs, giants, transvestite, and circus performers) or of people whose normality seems ugly or bizarre • Was the first american photographer to have their photographs displayed at the Venice Biennale

Connnttiinnuuatiiiioonnnnn • Motivated by her belief that her belief that there were things that nobody would see unless she captured the moment • used 35mm cameras • At age 18 she married Allan Arbus and began a commercial photography business • 1969 divorced Allan Arbus • July 26, 1971 she killed herself she was only 48 • Rumor was that she killed herself because she wanted to take pictures of herself dying
