  2. Cleaning Unit • When installing new/used inkjet heads on the machine or handling clogged heads, it is necessary to use the cleaning unit. Confidential

Cleaning Unit (Cont.) • Cleaning the inkjet heads is performed on an as-needed basis, or before inserting a new inkjet head into the system. • Inkjet heads are cleaned one at a time. • Before using the cleaning unit, make sure that: • Filter is clean. • Solvent is clean. • Container is full.   4. Washing Unit (Cont.) • Before performing the cleaning procedure, ensure that the following materials are prepared: • Cleaning unit • Four liters of ink solvent • Large plastic container Confidential

  6. Tubes Plastic container Preparation of the Cleaning Unit • Fill the large plastic container with ink solvent. • Place the plastic container in the back of the cleaning unit. • Insert the two tubes from the back of the bath into the plastic container. Confidential

Mechanical Stage (Cont.) • The mechanical stage flushes the inkjet head. • This step should be performed while the cleaning unit cover remains closed. • Place the inkjet head in the bracket on the cleaning unit, using the two mounting screws. Make sure there are two rubber seals on the bracket. • Open Taps #2 and #4. • Turn on the pump for 30 to 60 seconds and release air bubbles from the filter. • Open Tap #3. Confidential

Mechanical Stage (Cont.) • Turn on the pump. • Allow the cleaning unit to operate for 2 to 5 minutes. • If some nozzles are not spraying, rub your finger over the orifice plate using recommended gloves. • If there are still some spraying problems, change the flushing pressure. • If there are still nozzle problems, perform the ultrasonic bath procedure. Electrical Stage (Cont.) • The electrical stage checks the electrical function of the nozzles in the inkjet head. • Close tap #2. • Verify that the pump is off. • Close Tap #4 and open Tap #1. • Connect a flat cable to the cleaning unit and close the latches. • Allow the cleaning unit to operate for 2 to 5 minutes. • Turn on the pulse generator. • Tune the pulse generator to the highest frequency. Electrical Stage (Cont.) • Allow the nozzles to spray for 15-30 seconds (check for missing nozzle spray). • Rotate the frequency selector three clicks to the right. • Slide a piece of paper in front of the inkjet head (check for missing nozzle spray ). • Turn on the pump for 5 seconds. • Turn on the pulse generator again.   14. Ultrasonic Bath • When encountering heavy clogged inkjet heads, it is recommended to use the Ultrasonic Bath. • Use only distilled water. Pipette Inkjet head Distilled water at room temperature Confidential
