  2. History • The University of Houston's was founded in 1927 • In 1947, the cougar was made the mascot. • The university became a state institution in 1963. • The school has almost 300 undergraduate and graduate programs.

  3. Admission Criteria • State of Texas Uniform Admission Policy • Complete the recommended or advanced high school program or • SAT 1500 ACT 18 or • Complete a program that is equal to the recommended or advanced high school program Minimum GPA: 2.5 on all completed high school coursework
