aliens in a strange land

“Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evil doers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation” (I Peter 2:11-12).

  • I don’t “speak the language”. I don’t follow the customs.

  • We’re “foreign”.
  • “They” attack our culture, our forefathers, our God.
  • Good works defend our worthwhileness.
  • They also exhibit our God.
  • That He may be glorified – Matt. 5:16
