  2. Ais for attitude! • Always have a positive attitude! • Never say “I can’t”….say “I’ll try”!

  3. Bis for books! • We have print materials – what you see on the shelves. • We have E-Books you can access through overdrive.

  4. Cis for check out and check in! • Check out 1 book at a time. • You may check out during your class time or during open check out.

  5. Dis for Database! We will be doing a lot of research. We will learn how to search various databases to find accurate, reliable information.

  6. Eis for E-books! E-books can be checked out on any computer or mobile device using Overdrive.

  7. Fis for Fiction! • Fiction books are make-believe. • They can be found along the wall with windows and beside the blue “gym” door.

  8. Gis for Golden Shelf Elf Award! The Golden Shelf Elf award will be given to the class with the best library manners and participation each month.

  9. His for Helpers! I will be looking for Library Helpers to help with: Check In Check Out Reshelving Books Book Fair

  10. Iis for “In groups”! • A lot of our learning will take place in groups…either on the carpet or at the tables. • “Teamwork makes the dream work!”

  11. Jis for Just Right Book! • Find a book that is on your reading level. • Find a book that interests you. • Use the 5 Finger Rule.

  12. Kis for kindness! Treat EVERYONE with RESPECT!

  13. Lis for listen! We will be doing lots of fun activities this year. It is important that you listen and follow directions!

  14. Mis for Mighty Readers! By choosing “Just Right Books” and reading different types of books we are going to become GREAT READERS!

  15. Nis for Non-Fiction! • Non-fiction books are informational books. • They are located around the carpet.

  16. Ois for Open Check Out! If you finish your book before your next class, you may come return your book and check out another during open check out.

  17. Pis for participate! • Participate in class discussions, group projects, and library activities. • We can all learn something new from each other!

  18. Qis for questions! • If you are confused…just ask. • If you can’t find a book…just ask. • If you need help… just ask. • If you have a question…just ask.

  19. Ris for responsible! • YOU are responsible for the book you check out. • Take care of your library book and return it on time.

  20. Sis for shelf marker! • Please use a shelf marker when searching for a book. • Shelf markers are not to be used to sword fight or play the drums on the bookshelf!

  21. Tis for “take care of your book”! • Carry your book close to your chest. • Don’t leave your book outside or in the gym. • Don’t let your pets read your book. • No food or drink around your book.

  22. Uis for Use! • Use the library….read, think, research, answer, ask. • I am here to help you with whatever you may need!

  23. Vis for visitors! We will have special visitors throughout the year! Keep your eyes open…you never know when they will show up!

  24. Wis for windows and walls ! Student work is displayed all over the library. You may look but please don’t touch. Other students have worked very hard!

  25. Xis for eXcited! I am so excited about all we will be doing in the library this year! I hope you are excited too!

  26. Yis for YOU! YOU are the most important part of our library!

  27. Zis for zealous! • The definition of this word is feeling or showing strong and energetic support for a person, cause, etc. • I want you to be ZEALOUS about reading and learning this year!
