  2. Materials You Need • A calculator • Carbon Rod/Copper Rod • Aluminum Foil • Small Cylindrical Container • Two 3 Inch Wire • Multi Purpose Pliers • Glue Gun

  3. Drill a hole on the bottom side of the small cylinder • Glue a carbon rod in place • His acts as a positive rod

  4. Glue foil in place as a negative plate • Connect the wire of the battery • Positive connected to the carbon rod • Negative connected to the foil

  5. Connect the water battery to the calculator after it is apart • Put this in place of the solar panel • Put the calculator back together • Fill with water and enjoy!

  6. How Does it Work? • Two different metals have an electronegativity difference • Immerse these metals in fluid with free floating ions • Ions will be attracted to one metal electrode causing a potential difference • Creates a very tiny amount of energy • Electricity produced by difference in electrode potentials • Water is good, Salt Water is better, Vinegar is best • More electrolytes = bueno!
