  1. Simple Tips on How to Keep Your Gums Healthy

  2. Keep Your Gums Healthy • Keeping your gums healthy is crucial to maintaining good oral health.  • Gums keep the teeth in place. If they become infected, they may start to recede. When not treated, this can lead to tooth loss. Gum disease is also linked to various medical conditions. • That’s why taking good care of your gums not only benefits your mouth but your general health too.

  3. Here are Some Simple Tips to Keep Your Gums Healthy:

  4. Floss Daily • Flossing must be included in your daily oral hygiene routine. It gets rid of debris that the toothbrush won’t be able to. • It can reach tight spaces between teeth and prevent the build-up of plaque that otherwise can turn into tartar. If you’re not comfortable with the traditional floss, ask your dentist for product recommendations. • You may need a special type of floss if you’re wearing an appliance, such as dental braces.

  5. Brush Thoroughly • Brush thoroughly at least twice a day. But be careful and gentle to prevent enamel erosion. Wait for at least 30-45 minutes before brushing your teeth after a meal. • When you brush, be sure to cover all areas, especially the chewing surfaces at the back. Change to a new toothbrush once it starts to become frayed or worn. • Make it a habit to brush before bedtime too because the mouth produces less amount of saliva during sleep. This makes the teeth more vulnerable to acid attacks overnight.

  6. Gargle With Therapeutic Mouthwash • Opt for a therapeutic mouthwash instead of the usual cosmetic mouthwash. A cosmetic mouthwash can only help freshen breath temporarily but won’t offer other benefits beyond that. • A therapeutic mouthwash can help strengthen your teeth and gums, prevent gum disease, and get rid of cavity-causing bacteria in the mouth. • Carry a bottle with you when you’re on the go, and brushing may be challenging.

  7. Use Fluoride Toothpaste • Using fluoride toothpaste can help boost the health of your teeth and gums, promote fresh breath, and even help brighten the shade of your teeth. • Find out which products are recommended or have a seal of approval from your local dental authority.
