CAP 2008 Category 6 Awardees • Category 6, FGDC-Endorsed Standards Implementation Assistance and Outreach • The National Vegetation Classification Standard: Implementation and Outreach for the State of Oklahoma, submitted by Coordinate Solutions • A Proposed Course and Modular Curriculum For FGDC Standards Adoption and Implementation, submitted by Delta State University (MS) • Implementing the Standard for the U.S. National Grid, submitted by NC Center for Geographic Information & Analysis (CGIA) • Outreach and training on the National Vegetation Classification system to support framework layer development in Montana, submitted by The University of Montana, Montana Natural Heritage Program

Voluntary Consensus Standards Highlights from discussion of November 7, 2007 SWG meeting • Need to promote standards • Negotiate agreement between FGDC and INCITS • Purchase standards for non-commercial use • Make UML models and implementations (e.g., GML/XML) publicly available • Develop implementation guides • Get FGDC endorsement first for future standards • ISO standards • Make Feds comply • Not meaningful for FGDC endorsement • List on FGDC websites
