  3. Announcements • FGDC endorsement of Framework Data Standard, FGDC-STD-014-2008, in May • Public review of Federal Trails Data Standard closed Friday, August 8, 2008. • An editing committee meeting is planned for January 2009 • Proposal submissions for CAP 2009 are due January 6, 2009

Voluntary Consensus Standards Highlights from discussion of November 7, 2007 SWG meeting • Need to promote standards • Negotiate agreement between FGDC and INCITS • Purchase standards for non-commercial use • Make UML models and implementations (e.g., GML/XML) publicly available • Data registries • Develop implementation guides • Get FGDC endorsement first for future standards • ISO standards • Make Feds comply • Not meaningful for FGDC endorsement • List on FGDC websites

CY 2009 FGDC Standards Work Plan • ANSI has begun to document normative references at its eStandards store, webstore.ansi.org • ISO/TC 211 Programme Management Group (PMG) is planning to create a map showing the relationship between standards for its work in harmonization of standards (211 N 2596) • Comments or suggestions for these pages can be sent to the PMG chair.
