  2. Who is Mrs. Weston? v

Morning/Opening Procedure • Please enter room quietly and place your belongings in • the cabinet. • Place notes in the designated bin • Take out your REAL Book folder. • Refer to the board for instructions • DO NOW assignment or reading pages will be on the board. • Wait for teacher to give further instructions

  4. Roll-taking Procedure • Teacher will take attendance while students are at their table spot and working on the DO NOW assignment. • If you need to sharpen a pencil, do it at the beginning of end of the period.

  5. Absence Procedure • Students must let the teacher know they were absent and set a time to get work caught up i.e. before school starts, Paws, homework,etc. • Please be responsible to make up the work, it will help you to progress through your program.

  6. Homework Procedure • Students are expected to read for 20 minutes each night. Students are to record in their reading log what was read and how many pages each night. • Students will also have study guides to complete for homework for Science or Social Studies. Sometimes we will go over the homework during class.

  7. Procedure for Getting the Class’s Attention I will… • Stand in front of class. • Put up 5 fingers (high five). • Wait for class to be quiet • Begin speaking

  8. Procedure for Quieting the Class I will… • Stand in front of class. • Count down very slowly • Wait for class to be quiet • Begin Speaking

  9. Procedure for Getting Teacher’s Attention If you have to ask a question or make a comment: • Raise your hand and hold up all five fingers.

  10. Collecting Papers Procedure • Papers to be turned in go in the bin by the side of my desk. • Make sure your name is on the paper. • Papers not completed go back in your Real Book Folder.

  11. Distributing Papers Procedure • Your teacher or a student will distribute paper. • Take one paper and place the rest of the papers on the desk to your left. • You will not pass papers to each other.

  12. Classroom Rules • Be on time • Come to class prepared to do work (book, notebook, pencil, etc.) • Follow directions and procedures • Raise your hand if you have a question or answer • Respect your teacher and fellow classmates • Do not speak while others are speaking • Clean up after yourself

  13. Consequences • Verbal Warning • Recess time taken • Think Sheet • Call to parents/guardians • Conference with parents/guardians and teacher

  14. Rewards • Verbal acknowledgment • Positive note or phone call home to parent(s) • A “happy as a clam” classroom!
