QUINCY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2023-2024 Q GOAL 1: STUDENT SUCCESS District Q Goal 1 Quincy Junior High School will increase student achievement in Reading as measured by the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress Assessment from Fall 2023 to Spring of 2024. Maximize achievement and growth for all. Quincy Junior High School will increase student achievement in Math as measured by the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress Assessment from Fall to 2023 to Spring of 2024. Performance Measures (Data/Progress Monitoring) • • • NWEA MAP School Profile Report (Achievement Percentile Measures) – student achieving 60thpercentile or above (green/blue) PLC Team meeting notes and reflections (Data Analysis Protocol) Wednesday RtI (Response to Intervention) Team Professional Development (The New Classroom Instruction That Works) Key Take Aways & Reflections ACTION SCHOOL LEVEL TASKS • Implementation of Math 180 (ME-Math Enrichment) with data checks three times a year including professional development • Implementation of writing intervention (CER- Claim, Evidence, & Reasoning) within the FELA (Focused ELA) class • Continued implementation of Young Men Initiative (YMI) • Implementation of SAIG Groups during WIN time. Focus on groups of students who are below in NWEA MAP reading and math • Provide goal setting opportunities for students & share data with them • Provide PD to new staff regarding NWEA MAP reports and data to use for instructional purposes • Provide opportunities to celebrate achievements via assemblies and social media Focus on celebrating academic success

Engage in critical thinking and problem solving for all. Performance Measures (Data/Progress Monitoring) • Panorama Staff Survey on “Teaching Efficacy” and “Teacher Self-Reflection” ACTION SCHOOL LEVEL TASKS • ACL leaders will provide professional learning and guidance around the PLC+ framework to respective departments. • ACL leaders will model and support respective departments through Collective Efficacy Cycles • Grade-level PLC teams will use a data analysis protocol to identify grade-level needs and the needs of specific student groups. Focus on PLC+ and Collective Efficacy • Create engaging lessons/tasks that promote student voice (project-based, application to “real world”, collaborative tasks, etc.) Focus on decreasing student apathy

Maintain secure, healthy, and adaptive schools for all. Performance Measures (Data/Progress Monitoring) • Skyward Data Review for data decision rules regarding behavior (Referrals, ISS, OSS) • Skyward Data Review for data decision rules regarding academics (504s, SAIG-Social Academic Intervention Groups, HOPS- (Homework, Organization, and Planning Skills) • Tier 2 and Tier 3 data review meetings • Data accountability meetings with deans & SSFLs as well as counselors & social worker ACTION SCHOOL LEVEL TASKS • Strengthen Tier 1 supports within the classroom (The New Classroom Instruction That Works) • Create engaging lessons/tasks that promote student voice (project-based, application to “real world”, collaborative tasks, etc.) • Create an environment of respect and rapport in classrooms by cultivating positive patterns of interaction with and amongst students • Teach social skills of academic interaction during WIN • Trauma-informed classrooms professional development Focus on decreasing student apathy • Strengthen RtI Tier 2 Team Process (Teams, counselors, deans, etc.) to evaluate student data for placement into appropriate intervention and progress monitor • Actively monitor Panorama & Skyward data (deans and counselors) and make decisions based on this data • Review academic data at Tier 3 for early identification • Share out data with stakeholders Focus on addressing student needs utilizing data decision rules

QUINCY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2023-2024 Q GOAL 4: PARTNERSHIPS District Q Goal 4 Quincy Junior High School will continue partnerships with community stakeholders to enhance the student learning experience. Cultivate partnerships with parents, families, and the Quincy community to create successful pathways for all. Quincy Junior High School will increase student attendance as measured by the Skyward Attendance Data Report from Fall 2023 to Spring 2024. Performance Measures (Data/Progress Monitoring) • • Student rosters of those attending and/or being serviced through various community partnerships. Quarterly Skyward Attendance Reports. ACTION SCHOOL LEVEL TASKS • Weekly communication to parents regarding curriculum and upcoming events by RtI teams and/or singleton teachers • Continued use of social media by Administration (classroom, events, important school information) • Increase opportunities for parents to visit classrooms (labs, celebrations, presentations, etc.) • Provide Parent Academies to inform parents on relevant, adolescent topics • Continued partnerships with: • Colleges/Universities • Mentors • Young Life • Thriving Minds • PTO • Art Center • Creating opportunities for more community speakers • Creating more opportunities for assemblies Create a home – school – community partnership • Weekly attendance reports with early intervention • SSFL home visits for chronic absentees and chronic truants (9 days) • Truancy conferences with students and parents • Continue work with Lori Teal and TAOEP grant when students are chronic truants • Continue work with Bella Ease as attendance center for at-risk students • Use of Learning Lab for students with attendance issues • Share out data with stakeholders Create a home – school – community partnership to ensure education is a priority
