  3. end zone end zone • The object of the game is get the most points before time runs out. In order to get points, a team can: • get to their “end zone” by running with the ball and/or throwing the ball. This is worth 6 points. Successful arriving at the end zone is called a “touch down”. • kick a “field goal”. This is worth 3 points.

  5. field goal 2. (worth 3 points) goal post kicker After the kicker kicks the ball, the ball must go somewhere in between the goal post to get 3 points.

  9. The quarterback threw the ball. Now, the Auburn player wearing blue is trying to successfully catch the ball. If the other player wearing white catches the ball, it’s called an “interception.” If it’s an interception, his team gets to be on offense.

  10. The offensive team has 3 tries to progress at least 10 yards. In order for the defensive team to stop the offensive team from progressing, they tackle the offensive team and put the person with the ball on the ground. tackle

  11. If the offensive team is able to progress at least 10 yards within 3 tries, they get another 3 tries to progress at least another 10 yards. And so on. touch down!

  12. If the offensive team is NOT able to progress at least 10 yards within 3 tries, the punter kicks the ball to the other team. Then, the other team becomes the offensive team and gets 3 tries to progress at least 10 yards. the punter about to kick the ball to the other team
