  4. INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC Instrument Operation Turning on the M40 CO Press and hold the ON/OFF key until the instrument emits a short beep and goes into a display test. H2S O2 LEL M40

  7. INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC Instant Readings Screen The M40 will simultaneously monitor All 4 gases (O2, LEL,CO and H2S) continuously. A battery life indicator is also displayed in the lower left corner. As battery life decreases, the shaded area of the battery icon decreases. Pressing the up arrow will access the “zero” mode. INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC Instrument Operation Sensor Over Range Should the M40 encounter a gas concentration above the measuring range of the sensor, the instrument will place a 1 in the left most column of the display. CO H2S LEL Over Range Condition O2 LEL Note: To clear the over range condition on the LEL sensor, the instrument must be turned off and back on again. M40

  14. Instrument Operation Low Battery Indication With approximately 30 minutes of run time left, the instrument will emit a beep every 10 seconds and the battery icon will be flashing.

  15. Instrument Operation INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC Battery Fail Indication When the battery can no longer support instrument operation, the M40 sensor display will be blanked out and will be in continuous alarm. At this time, recharge the instrument before further use. CO H2S O2 LEL M40

INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC SP40 SP40 Operation For confined space entry, the SP40 will allow the user to draw a sample of up to 50 feet SP40 inlet Port and Filter SP40 Contacts CO H2S O2 LEL NOTE: Allow two seconds per foot of tubing and two minutes of sample draw time to obtain an accurate reading of the space.   17. INDUSTRIAL SCIENTIFIC SP40 SP40 Operation If the SP40 filter or tubing become blocked, the M40 will go into alarm and the Pump Fault indicator will appear on the display.
