  4. Discussed the Process for Changing IDR to AMS • RMWG reviewed presentations and information from previous meetings to include history discussed on this subject as follows: • RMWG update to RMS in August on Changing IDR to AMS • RMWG reviewed TEXAS Utilities Code § 39.107 • This information helped explain the reasoning for RMWG leaving language that refers to IDR meters • Wanted PRR language to align with the law

  5. Discussed the Process for Changing IDR to AMS (cont.) • RMWG reviewed Sections 2, 18.6 and 10.9 of the ERCOT Protocols and discussed various options for wording changes • RMWG is still in the process of discussing and developing language changes and has created an opportunity for PWG to provide feedback prior to the RMWG making any final recommendations to RMS

  6. Discussed the Process for Changing IDR to AMS (Cont.) • RMWG continues to review various scenarios and is contemplating recommendations as follows: • ESI IDs above the mandatory threshold that have an IDR meter installed  leave as an IDR meter • ESI IDs currently below the mandatory threshold with an advanced meter where the demand moves above the threshold  REP action item • ESI IDs currently below the threshold with an IDR meter  REPs option • ESI IDs currently above the threshold with an IDR meter where the demand moves below the threshold  REPs option

  7. Discussed the Process for Changing IDR to AMS (Cont.) • REP Open Question • For ESI IDs that have an • advanced Meter where the • demand goes above the threshold • Does the advanced meter need to be replaced with an IDR meter?

  8. Discussed the Process for Changing IDR to AMS (Cont.) • TDSP Open Questions • For ESI IDs that have an • IDR meter where the demand • remains above the threshold • Can customers request to have their IDR meter replaced with an Advanced Meter? • If the IDR meter is replaced can the TDSP charge the AMS surcharge? • Is the TDSP allowed to install an Advanced Meter and maintain the IDR meter profile and existing TXSET data transmission process?

  9. Discussed the Process for Changing IDR to AMS (Cont.) • Next RMWG Meeting: • The next RMWG meeting is scheduled for 09/18/09 prior to the PWG meeting on 09/23/09. This date was selected in order to provide recommended language for review by the PWG during their meeting. • RMWG Plan: • Continue discussions on this topic and the review of Protocol and RMG language to finalize policy and operational recommendations to RMS
