  5. Overview of AVLS Technology

  6. What is GPS? • The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a worldwide radio-navigation system formed from a constellation of 24 satellites and their ground stations.

  7. What is GPRS? • General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a mobile data service available to users of GSM mobile phones.

  8. What is GIS? • GIS is mapping technique to represent the location data. • We use maps from for the same. (Adding own maps is also possible)

  10. Advantages • Real time tracking of vehicle(s) using Maps • Ability to control vehicle from web / mobile phone • Automatically find closest vehicle from group of vehicles – useful for taxi / courier companies. • Geocoder / Reverse Geocoder – useful to get location like – 5kms from Kanpur
