Practice / IMCA interfaces • Online profile for each practice • Includes contact details + free text and sector / service competencies • Only practices partake in Consultant Search, Client Enquiry Service and in downloadable directories • Membership / practice accreditations can be validated online • New members can be uploaded by ACP (with unique practice identifier) + CV for each member • Annual affirmation – for practice and individual members • Only practices can use IMCA logo

  8. CSO Survey of Consultancy Market

  9. Context of survey • CSO seek inputs to a planned survey of the consultancy market in Ireland. • The format would follow one being implemented by ONS (Office for National Statistics) in the UK. • It would comprise two returns: • Hours billed, rates (€) and realisation (%) by grade, by service area quarterly – as basis for price index • Turnover by service area – initial and updated every 5 or so years. • Proposed service areas and definitions are set out for discussion.

Strategic Management Consultancy: In: Consultancy on business policy and strategy and the overall planning, structuring and control of an organisation Out: Legal advisory and representation as well as services of counsellors and negotiators arranging mergers and acquisitions 2. Financial and Economic Consultancy: In: Consultancy advice on all aspects of financial and economic management. Out: Design and development services for computer software for accounting systems, security brokerage services, portfolio and fund management services and accounting, bookkeeping and financial auditing 3. Marketing Management Consultancy: In: Advisory, guidance and operational assistance on the marketing strategy and marketing operation Out: Public relations, communication services and advertising services

Human Resources Consultancy: In: Consultancy advice on HR strategies and practices and employee learning and development Out: Executive placement or search consulting services and educational consulting services 5. Operation Services including Supply Chain: In: Consulting on improvements to systems and procedures and office and service operations; includes integrated supply chain management consulting which includes inventory management, warehousing and storage and distribution services consulting Out: Architectural advisory service, engineering advisory services, environmental consulting services and other scientific and technical consulting services not elsewhere specified 6. Outsourcing Consultancy In: Provision of a bundled service package that combines IT-intensive services with labour, machinery, and facilities to support, host and manage a business process.

Project and Programme Management In: Advice on programme and project management strategies, policies, processes and organisation of the function Out: Construction project management services 8. IT Consultancy In: Review of the existing IT infrastructure, advice on IT matters related to hardware or systems / software requirements and advice on the purchase of new equipment / software Out: Writing the computer code and the actual IT implementation and integration
