  4. YOUTH SLANG Dude, I am glad you finally called! COOL! Da bomb! Take booze, garbage and join us! We’re just chillin at my house!

WHY PEOPLE USE SLANG? • To be secret - not understood by those around one • To be 'different', to be novel. • To induce either friendliness or intimacy • of a deep kind.  • 'just for the fun of the thing' • To show that one belongs to a certain school, • trade, or profession • To be picturesque
